When to use an AI psychologist — six moments to open Safe Space
An AI psychologist is not “when you have a free hour.” It is when the next ten minutes will otherwise go to rumination. Safe Space is built for those windows — web or Google Play.
1. The night loop
Lights off, story on. Do not write a novel. Open chat, one body fact, then longer exhales in the calm tools. Sleep is not a debate you can win at 01:12.
2. The message you keep opening
Paste the gist (not the whole private thread if you do not want it on a server) and name the feeling: discarded, angry, frozen. Ask for one fairer sentence and one next action that is not “refresh again.”
3. Sunday dread / Monday tightness
Future-as-catastrophe. A thought record: what is scheduled vs what the mind added. Then a 30-second mood log so next Sunday has a comparison, not a myth.
4. After work, before home
Commute or bathroom. Two minutes of grounding, then one sentence about the meeting. You arrive as a person, not as the last Slack thread.
5. Before you dump on a tired friend
Friends are not unpaid clinicians. Draft the load in Safe Space first. Then you can ask a human for what humans are for: being there, not debugging your whole week.
6. After a PHQ-9 or GAD-7 number
A score without a next step becomes a new worry. Open chat: “the number moved, I have tonight.” Screening is on the tests page too — share the page, not your answers.
When not to use it
Immediate danger, plan, or inability to stay safe: emergency services and people first. AI is a wellness layer, not a crisis team.
If one of the six is now, open the session or Google Play.
Safe Space is a self-help wellness tool, not a medical device, and does not replace professional care. If you are struggling or in crisis, contact a clinician or a crisis hotline.
